Project Goal

To develop a user-friendly and feature-rich frontend for Hauzisha.co.ke, optimize its search engine performance, and ensure a seamless user experience across devices.

My Role: Frontend Developer

Key Contributions:

• Frontend Development: Built the entire frontend of the platform, focusing on a clean and intuitive user interface.
• Responsive Design: Implemented a responsive design to ensure optimal viewing experience across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
• Complex Search Filters: Developed and integrated advanced search filters allowing users to refine their property search based on various criteria (e.g., price, location, property type, number of bedrooms).
• In-App Chat: Integrated an in-app chat system to facilitate direct communication between buyers and sellers, improving user engagement and transaction efficiency.
• Google Maps Integration: Incorporated Google Maps to provide users with a visual representation of property locations, enhancing the search experience.
• SEO Optimization: Implemented on-page SEO best practices to improve the platform's visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) and drive organic traffic. This included optimizing site structure, meta descriptions, title tags, and image alt text. (Note: The success of SEO is also dependent on ongoing efforts and other factors outside of just the frontend development)
• Performance Optimization: Optimized the frontend for speed and performance to ensure a smooth and responsive user experience.

Results:

• A fully functional and user-friendly real estate platform.
• Improved user engagement through features like in-app chat and advanced search filters.
• Enhanced user experience with responsive design and Google Maps integration.
• Increased organic visibility through SEO optimization. (Note: You would ideally quantify the improvement in organic traffic, keyword ranking, etc. with data if possible).
